Our usual strategy for July 4th is to go downtown and wander around until we see something patriotic. There are schedules available that would make this process more efficient, but I'm a lazy patriot. This year the strategy failed just a tad. We went downtown, but didn't come across a parade or a historical reenactment. We did have some lovely hot dogs in the public gardens and Frances communed with the ducks.
But it was distressingly hot.
We quickly retreated to a mall to eat ice cream indoors. Then we were all happy campers again.
