Cow day at Drumlin Farm was really fun. We got to milk a cow! Chandler was not sure this was a good idea for her, but she was willing to stand by me while I gave it a try. After the milking, we got to go up in the hay loft to feed the cows. Chandler was absolutely sure she was not interested in throwing hay down to the cows, and she didn't want me anywhere near that hole in the wall either. But she was willing to play in the hay and get her photo taken. Her hair smelled so very good after her time in the loft, like warm summer. I thought it was heaven.
The last class activity was making butter and then eating it with saltines. Chandler thought that was heaven. Perhaps I'll offer that as a treat at her next birthday...
On our way back to the car, we had to stop off in the chicken barn. They have this egg sorting contraption, complete with wooden eggs, that the kids adore. Chandler mostly likes collecting the wooden eggs and carrying them around in her wire basket.
She can be very easy to please.
